New International Alumni Council and regional clubs to strengthen global alumni connections and career support

King’s Business School is launching an International Alumni Council to help deepen connectivity with its alumni community around the world. The Council will have a particular focus on supporting the career development of current students and recent graduates worldwide.

One of the International Alumni Council’s key tasks will be to identify influential alumni leaders in regions with large numbers of King’s Business School alumni to establish alumni clubs. These Clubs will provide career development opportunities for new King’s Business School graduates through professional networks and mentorship and will provide current students and recent graduates with insights into local labour markets and workplace cultures.

In addition, the regional King’s Business School Alumni Clubs will play an important role in meeting prospective students to give them first hand insight into the business school and will support regional fundraising initiatives.

The inaugural Executive President of the International Alumni Council will be distinguished alumna Rita Kakati-Shah (Mathematics and Management, 2001). A global thought leader in women’s leadership and diversity and inclusion, Rita brings extensive professional experience to the role and a particular passion for empowering the next generation of business leaders.

The IAC will be supported by Regional Club Presidents in key regions, working alongside Dan Maggs, Director of Partnerships & External Engagement and Abi Micallef, Head of Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement. The Business School plans to launch the first Alumni Clubs later this year in India and China.

The creation of the International Alumni Council reflects our ambition to ensure King’s Business School remains a lifelong partner in the careers and communities of our graduates, wherever they are in the world. With Rita as Executive President, I am confident this network will thrive and grow.

As an alumna myself I know how committed King’s Business School is to making the professional opportunities and sense of community that are part of our student life part of our lives as alumni. I’m looking forward to connecting with fellow alumni around the world through this initiative, celebrating their successes and helping them to have an even bigger positive impact.
