The Culture, Politics & Society MA examines how cultural contexts intersect with political and social structures. As a uniquely interdisciplinary programme, the course draws on theories and frameworks from history, geography, political theory, sociology, screen media, sociolinguistics, and cultural studies.

Through these integrated perspectives, students gain the tools to critically engage with key contemporary issues such as identity politics, globalisation, technological change, and social justice.

The course also makes use of King's central London location, with modules showing students how different elements of the city can be representative of issues and structures around the world.

With an emphasis on thinking flexibly and creatively, the programme prepares graduates to become innovative leaders across a wide range of sectors – from academia and cultural organisations to public service and the non-profit sphere.

This MA is the culmination of many years of innovation. Our department tackles the complexities of the contemporary world through research that thinks across, and beyond, disciplinary boundaries. Meanwhile our undergraduate teaching has pioneered groundbreaking assessments that offer tangible outputs for prospective employers and for further education. With this MA we have a unique opportunity to combine these practices, creating a syllabus that empowers students to confront humanity's urgent challenges through academic work designed to drive immediate and meaningful change.
