RTsafe, the Athens, Greece-based leader in personalised radiation therapy Quality Assurance, will be joining the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE).

LIHE provides a physical space within London’s St Thomas’ Hospital campus for start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s), and multinational companies that together will ensure that the latest medical technology and discoveries are translated swiftly and effectively into patient care.

RTsafe will be the first SME to join the institute.

As RTsafe is expanding globally, we have been looking for expert partners to support us on our growth journey. Joining LIHE was a natural choice as we are building our presence in the UK. The opportunities for research, clinical and commercial collaborations that LIHE offers will prove invaluable to our long-term growth and success. I am also looking forward to contributing to LIHE's ecosystem by sharing my personal experience with other MedTech founders on their own journey.

Dr Evangelos Pappas, Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology Medical Physics, University of West Attica, Athens, Greece, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, RTsafe

RTsafe is a medical technology company that has developed a unique approach to quality assurance that is making a contribution to the safety and accuracy of radiotherapy for cancer and other medical conditions. It combines proven expertise in medical physics with highly accurate 3D printing technology to create pseudo-in-vivo dosimetry phantoms for use in end-to-end commissioning, benchmarking, and patient-specific quality assurance in stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery. The anatomically accurate effigies enable medical professionals to simulate therapeutic interventions for each patient ahead of actual treatment and help radiotherapy technology innovators to verify the performance of their products.

It is a testament to our vision of creating the UK's first vertically integrated MedTech ecosystem that RTsafe, an international scale-up on a mission to make radiation therapy safe for all patients, has made the decision to join LIHE as our first SME member. I welcome Dr Pappas and his team, and we are looking forward to drawing on their expertise to support the early-stage MedTech companies we will be hosting at LIHE.
