Mental capacity and Multiple Exclusion Homelessness

Lizzie Furber spoke to over 200 practitioners at the latest in our Homelessness Series

A lifestyle choice?

Over 200 participants joined the July event in the Unit’s Homelessness Series. Led by social worker and Approved Mental Health Professional Lizzie Furber, who is senior practitioner in the East London NHS Foundation Trust Rough Sleepers Mental Health Project, the event examined understanding and approaches to mental capacity when working with Multiple Exclusion Homelessness (MEH) and asked if practitioners see MEH as ‘A Lifestyle Choice?’.

Participants thanked Lizzie for a ‘really interesting and thought provoking’ session, described as ‘hugely helpful for my practice’.

Lizzie's slides, from which the header image is taken, are available.
