School launches new joint PhD programme with the University of São Paulo

Applicants are now being accepted for a four-year joint PhD programme in pharmaceutical sciences between the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (IPS) within the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FCP) at the University of São Paulo in Brazil leading to a joint qualification from both universities.

This programme is the first double PhD programme that King’s has entered into and is designed to capture the broad sweep of research undertaken in the IPS, ranging from pharmacological and chemical studies that can identify novel drug targets and new chemical entities, through to formulation and drug development, to clinical trials and the use of medicines by patients.

King’s are ranked 9th in the world for Pharmacy & Pharmacology* and São Paulo is considered the best academic teaching and research centre in pharmaceutical sciences in Latin America, with a particular strength in developing industrial processes to meet the market supply of medicines.
