PhD student Vicky Butt interviewed by The Science and Engineering South Consortium

Vicky Butt is a Bioinformatics and Data Science PhD Researcher at King’s College London. She is currently investigating antimicrobial resistance and developing a risk score method from sequenced metagenomes.

The Science and Engineering South Consortium (SES), formed by the Universities of Oxford, Southampton, Imperial College London, Queen Mary University of London, King’s College London, and University College London, interviewed Vicky on her research and women in STEM.

In the interview Vicky talks about the importance of investing in antimicrobial resistance research; the biggest cause of antimicrobial resistance; her non-traditional biology background and her future plans for ‘Research/hers Code’ – a community for women and minorities who work on computational science.
