Professor Vibhu Paudyal will lead sustainable, high quality, applied health research that benefits our local and global communities. He will foster interdisciplinary partnerships within and beyond King’s that increase the quality of NMPC research and education and deliver impact to benefit society.

Vibhu’s research focuses on understanding and mitigating inequalities particularly in people who face multiple and severe disadvantages. His research has offered substantial evidence on the disparities in health and access to healthcare faced by people experiencing homelessness.

He is currently leading a UK NIHR Health Service Research and Delivery (HS&DR) funded trial to test a model of care which involves integrated health, social and practical support for people experiencing homelessness. His research also includes people who experience problem drug use, severe mental health problems and those with physical and mental comorbidities (multiple psychiatric disorders).

Through his research background in clinical pharmacy and medicines use, Vibhu’s work aims to develop novel roles for non-medical prescribers (such as nurses and pharmacists) in care provision for people who face exclusion.

Vibhu is a fellow and the Associate Editor of International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, an ESCP flagship journal. He was previously the Chair of the Research Committee of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP).

'It is truly an honour to be joining a world leading research and teaching faculty at King’s. Growing inequalities in society have necessitated innovative ways of collaboration across sectors and disciplines, and King’s offers an ideal place to connect with diverse experts to design and deliver interdisciplinary programmes of research that serve the global community.'
