The King's Distinguished Alumni Awards 2019 will celebrate our most dedicated, innovative and inspirational alumni.

Last year, we launched the King’s Distinguished Alumni Awards to celebrate our most dedicated, innovative and inspirational alumni.

Nominations are now closed for the King’s 2019 alumni awards. The winners will be chosen from the shortlist by a selection committee made up of leading figures from the King’s community. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Thursday 6 June 2019, with further details to follow.


The following categories will also be awarded at the event:

Overall awards

Alumnus or Alumna of the Year - This annual award recognises an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated outstanding personal achievement.

Helen Hudson Award - This award recognises the exemplary contribution of a member of the King's community to the university or alumni body. The award honours Helen Hudson, former Dean of Students, who helped promote education for women and support students at King’s for over 20 years.

Top 10 Under 40

King’s Future Alumnus or Alumna Award - A King’s student who has exceptional potential and is a visionary thinker. Perhaps you know someone who has set up a business alongside their studies or is working on leading a project that will transform the world.

Last year’s winner was Onyinye Udokporo. Onyinye juggles her studies with numerous volunteering commitments and is passionate about social mobility and creating opportunity for others.

King’s in Service Award - A member of the alumni community who has served the needs and aspirations of society. They have made a significant positive impact in their community through a planned intervention.

King’s Transformation Award - An alumna or alumnus who has achieved tremendous success, overcoming significant obstacles in the process.

King’s Entrepreneur Award - An alumna or alumnus who showcases exceptional entrepreneurial spirit. They may have founded a start-up or a charity, but they are always seeking new approaches and striving to innovate and find solutions.

King’s Emerging Leader Award - A young alumna or alumnus who has exhibited exceptional success in their professional field as a rising star.

King’s Arts and Culture Alumni Award - An alumna or alumnus with outstanding achievements in the arts and culture sector. Perhaps they are excelling at an arts organisation or are an artist themselves.

King’s International Alumni Award - An alumna or alumnus living outside of the UK who has shown outstanding professional achievement, civic leadership, or has supported King's alumni and students internationally.

King’s STEM Alumni Award - An alumna or alumnus who has excelled is science, technology, engineering or maths.

King’s Global Health Alumni Award - An alumna or alumnus who has excelled in the medical or health industries.

King's Alumni Impact Award – An alumnus or alumna who is making a positive impact or enhancing the lives of others through outstanding leadership or service.
