The Centre for Hellenic Studies is delighted to publish a recording of the 2021 Rumble Lecture, which can be accessed below.

The Rumble Lecture was delivered by Prof. Salvatore Settis (17.03.2021); the theme was ‘A Greek Lady from Persepolis: A Statue of Penelope and Her Roman Sisters’. The event was organized by the Centre for Hellenic Studies and Department of Classics at King's College, in collaboration with The Courtauld and the Institute of Classical Studies.

In light of the pandemic, the 2021 event was held online. While we look forward to being able to hold public event at King’s again soon, the online format meant that this year’s lecture could be enjoyed live across five continents – with a record number of attendees.

Our annual Rumble Lecture forms part of the Jamie Rumble Memorial Fund at King’s. You can read more about the 2021 lecture, and the Rumble Lecturer, here.
