One of the most prestigious centres for the study of antiquity
Teaching undergraduate courses in Classics since 1831
Studying the literature, history and cultures of ancient civilizations
One of the UK’s largest and most dynamic centres for classical research
The Department of Classics at King’s is one of the largest, most prestigious and innovative centres for the study of antiquity in the world. We have been teaching undergraduate courses in Classics since 1831.
Join our postgraduate courses to study literature, history, cultures and influences of ancient civilizations around and beyond the Mediterranean.
The Department of Classics prides itself on being one of the largest national and international centres for research into the ancient Mediterranean world.
The Department of Classics offers two Intensive Courses in Ancient Greek and Latin. These courses are six weeks long, with the option to study either the first three week block (for absolute beginners) or the second three week block (for students at intermediate level).
As well as being highly intensive, the courses offer a friendly and supportive environment. There are workshops by guest lecturers offering an introduction to skills such as epigraphy and papyrology, and specially arranged guided tours of the British Museum.
