Master’s

Study at one of the world’s leading and largest departments of Classics, where the subject has been taught for almost 200 years.

At the King's College London Department of Classics, postgraduates have the chance to study the literature, history, cultures and influence of ancient civilisations around and beyond the Mediterranean.

Here you will be able to take advantage of our unique chronological coverage that spans across the Bronze Age through ancient Greece and Rome to the modern era, and from the Indus and the Nile to the Thames and Tyne.

Our partnership with the Institute of Classical Studies gives you access to the best Classics research library in the country, and to a range of exciting seminars.

Further support is provided by the King's Faculty of Arts & Humanities' Centre for Hellenic Studies. Combining the resources of Classics and Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, the King's CHS organises major public lectures by leading scholars and a biennial international conference.

Some of our postgraduate students take part in the annual Greek play, the only production in the country to be performed every year in the original Greek. Others participate in the yearly Jamie Rumble Memorial Fund Trip.
