Rumble Trip 2024

Students explored Rome on this year's annual Rumble Trip.

Rumble trip

The Jamie Rumble Memorial Fund offers a trip to students in the Department of Classics each year. On 20-24 February 2024, students had the opportunity to spend time in Rome.

The itinerary included a visit to the Roman Forum, Imperial Fora, the Palatine, including House of Augustus and the Palatine Museum.

The group also visited Capitoline Hill, Capitoline Museums, the Roman Domus at Palazzo Valentini and a walking tour of the Campus Martius; including Column of Marcus Aurelius, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Mausoleum of Augustus and Museo dell’Ara Pacis.

This has been an incredible experience – one that I would otherwise never have had and I feel immensely privileged.

I learned so so much. I’ve not only enjoyed seeing the rich history of Rome firsthand but I made friends (too).
