Showcasing King's work on self-neglect

Nicole Steils and Jess Harris discussed two recent research projects on the topic

Abstract pattern

In the second of a series of national webinars showcasing Social Care Research by NIHR funded Policy Research Units (PRUs) in England, HSCWRU presented two School for Social Care Research (SSCR) funded projects to nearly 50 participants. Nicole Steils reported initial findings from the Unit’s recently completed study of Social care responses to self-neglect and hoarding among older people: What works in practice? Jess Harris discussed emerging findings from the Adult safeguarding, homelessness and self-neglect study, which comes to an end this month. Questions and comments from participants offered useful reflections on the implications of study findings for policy and practice. Publications and presentations from the studies are available on their respective webpages, with more forthcoming.

Nicole Steils and Jess Harris are both Research Fellows at the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce (HSCWRU) at King's.
