Jill Manthorpe, Director of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce, was invited today to the Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM). She was taking part in an online session covering research with the new NIHR Director and Chief Scientific Advisor at the DHSC, Prof Lucy Chappell. Both talked about their routes into research and the emphasis on research to improve practice and systems. The Unit is involved with other work programmes at the IHSCM, with Caroline Green chairing the power and rights sub-group which is currently exploring a 'rights for residents' charter based on one developed in Germany.
