King’s is committed to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals which includes: Goal 13 – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

King’s has successfully decoupled carbon emissions and growth and has cut its emissions by 30 per cent since 2005–06. The university aims to cut its carbon emissions by 43 per cent compared to a 2005–06 baseline by 2020,and to have net zero carbon emissions by 2025.

To achieve these ambitious targets, King's continues to invest in on-site renewables such as solar panels as well as low-carbon, energy efficiency and behaviour change projects acrossits estate. Since October 2017, all electricity procured by King’s comes from certified clean renewable energy sources.

King’s has also pledged to divest from all fossil fuels by the end of 2022, and to increase its investments with socially responsible benefits to 40 per cent by 2025.
