Dr Yasmin Ahmadzadeh PhD

My research is focussed on understanding how common mental health problems run in families. I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr Tom McAdams’ lab, where we specialise in genetically informed, intergenerational research. I am the Principal Investigator on the Emerging Minds funded TRADE project, exploring the Transmission of experiences of Racism, Anxiety and DEpression in families.

I joined King’s College London originally as a Research Assistant, working to set up and run the Children of the Twins Early Development Study (CoTEDS)  I remain involved in running CoTEDS and planning for the future of this study.

I completed my PhD part-time, alongside my Research Assistant role. My thesis comprised studies of anxiety and depression in parents and children, examining how parents and children may influence one another’s mental health, alongside the role of genetic factors.

Prior to working at King’s College London, I completed my BSc in Neuroscience with Industrial/Professional Experience at the University of Manchester.
