Research
Thesis title: 'Desalination at the industrial frontier: approaches to water scarcity in the 'green transition'
The project analyzes the emergence of industrial desalination in Gresik, Indonesia. It aims to situate the specific rhythms and textures of industrial water supply within the wider socioecological dynamics of the 'green transition' and the geographies of value in the current global conjuncture. This research develops a critical social science perspective on desalination via attention to dispossession, labour regimes and financialization, whilst also contributing to contemporary value theory in Geography.
