Biography

Aleksandra is a PhD Research Fellow in Clinical Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, KCL. Aleksandra is interested in the effect of exercise on the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and works with Professor Ray Chaudhuri also as a Research Coordinator at King’s Parkinson Foundation Centre of Excellence, looking after a portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies and trials. In addition, Aleksandra is interested in the use of technology to diagnose and manage symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and her PhD thesis involves looking at Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation as a potential tool for prediction of patient response to sports-based adjunctive therapies for Parkinson’s Disease. Aleksandra, under the supervision of Prof Chaudhuri, is the main researcher for the Ballet-PD arm of the SHAPER project, which will be the main topic of her PhD thesis.
