Biography
Dr Alex Cheok is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at King's College London. He completed a BSc in Human Nutrition at Northumbria University. He obtained his PhD in Nutrition and Cardiovascular Sciences at King's College London in 2022, investigating the impact of plant bioactives on cardiovascular health, with a focus on the efficacy, bioavailability and mechanisms of betalains.
Dr Cheok is also a Registered Nutritionist and a member of scientific experts for the online phytochemical database PhytoHub. He is currently undertaking clinical research examining the cardioprotective effects of betalains in middle-aged adults.
