Alexander Palmer

Biography

Alex is a PhD candidate in chemistry education research and joined the School of Education, Communication and Society in 2021. Before starting at King's, he studied at the University of York, and was awarded his MChem in 2019.

Research 

Alex's research focuses on evaluative judgement within chemistry education and how students identify quality in their work. His undergraduate research focused on alternative conceptions and how these could differentially impact marginalised learners.

In addition to his research interests in chemistry, Alex is committed to widening access to education and supporting marginalised learners. He has held multiple equality-related roles since 2015 as a student and in his workplace, and has designed and delivered EDI training to staff and students.
