Biography
Dr Anika Petrella is a Research Associate in Health Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, where she collaborates with Dr Lauren Heathcote.
She received her PhD from the University of Toronto and is a registered psychotherapist in Canada, having completed her training at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Dr Petrella's research and clinical work focus on psycho-oncology, with a particular interest in enhancing the quality of life for young people living with and beyond cancer.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr Petrella contributes to Dr Heathcote's research programme which aims to identifying mind-body mechanisms of physical and mental health and test innovative behavioural medicine approaches to improve the lives of those living with and beyond cancer.
