Biography

Anna joined King’s College London in 2023 as part of the King’s College London–National University of Singapore Joint PhD Programme, funded by the King’s College London Centre for Doctoral Studies. She is currently in the final year of her PhD in Psychological Medicine. Her research focuses on psychiatric and mental health epidemiology, with a particular interest in dementia, caregiving, and health service use. Anna is a mixed-methods researcher with a background in global health, intervention development and interdisciplinary training across public health, psychological medicine, and sustainability science.

Anna has conducted research and teaching at Tunghai University (Taiwan), Trinity College Dublin-Global Brain Health Institute (Ireland), the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, King’s College London, and the National University of Singapore. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Science and Engineering from Tunghai University, and a Master of Science in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin. She is currently completing her PhD in Psychological Medicine at King’s College London and the National University of Singapore, where she leads a multicountry mixed-methods project examining barriers and facilitators to accessing dementia care.

Anna has received several academic awards and research funding, including the King’s College London–National University of Singapore Joint PhD Fund (2023), the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference Travel Fellowship (2022), and the Global Excellence Scholarship from Trinity College Dublin (2020). She also received multiple Presidential Awards from Tunghai University (2015–2020), the Teaching Assistant Excellence Award (2019), and the National Honor Student Award in Taiwan for achieving a GPA within the top 1% nationwide. Anna is a member of the Phi Tau Pi Scholastic Honorary Society and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2020.

Teaching 

Academic writing and International Collaborations in Global Health.

Expertise and Public Engagement 

She contributes to serves as Co-Chair of the Early Career Network and Education & Training Committee at the International Psychogeriatric Association. She is also a Guest Editor for PLOS Global Public Health and participates in international research collaborations, including work using the CRIS platform at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Dementia Platform UK. She leads a multi-institutional research group spanning King’s College London, University of Oxford, University of Manchester, Queen Mary University of London, and several universities in Indonesia, including Universitas of North Sumatra, to advance caregiving and dementia research in low- and middle-income countries. The group is actively publishing research and applying for funding in this field.
