Biography

Anna Tröger is a PhD candidate at King’s College London, where she joined in 2022 as part of the international research training group Risks and Pathomechanisms of Affective Disorders, in association with the TU Dresden, Germany. Her research focuses on cognitive functioning and sleep in bipolar disorder, with a particular interest in EEG markers of cognition and the role of sleep processes such as sleep spindles. As part of her doctoral work, she is involved in the Cognitive Remediation of Bipolar Disorder (CRiB2) trial and conducts clinical and cognitive assessments as well as independent research on sleep and cognition.

Anna teaches seminars and supervises MSc students on the Affective Disorders programme at King’s College London. She previously gained teaching experience as a student guide at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

She holds a Research Master’s degree in Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a BSc in Psychology from Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. She also completed an Erasmus semester at the University of Warsaw.

Anna has published several peer-reviewed articles on affective disorders, including work on EEG markers of cognitive performance in bipolar disorder and psychotherapy outcomes in depression.
