Asad is a PhD researcher in the Informatics Department at King’s College London. Asad’s research is in Model Driven Engineering in Finance, with the prospect of incorporating finance with computer science.

Asad’s 15+ year’s work experience in the financial industry brings practical knowledge into his research. In finance, software coding needs to follow regulatory requirements, coding standards and address the bigger economic picture. Asad’s research aims to support developers from all levels of society to better understand software, facilitate transparency and auditability of financial decisions that can impact day-to-day decisions from a personal to a wider economic context.

Asad holds an MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and an MSc in Quantitative Finance. Additionally, Asad holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Software Development, and a BSc in Computing, with several professional certifications on the side (MCAD, MCDBA and MCP).

Outside of work and research, Asad is a keen chess player and holds a FIDE MASTER title. Asad is a marathon runner and a keen martial artist; throw in the gym and swimming to complete the picture! Asad is a keen nutritionist especially when it comes to optimising mind, body, and spirit. Asad would love to hear your views on research, chess, fitness and nutrition too!

Asad’s research focuses on allowing end-users to write mathematical equations that can be transformed into code in a language of choice. Why?
