Biography
Atsuko Carroll joined King’s College London Language Centre in 2008. She holds a BA (Hons) in Theology from Doshisha University, Japan (1996), an MA in History from the University of Nottingham (1997), and an MBA from Warwick Business School (2003). She speaks Japanese and English.
Before joining King’s, Atsuko worked in the private sector in Japan and London, gaining extensive experience in business operations and management. She was appointed as a Business Development Officer at the Language Centre in 2008 and currently serves as Business Support Manager, overseeing the Department’s financial, HR, Estates, Health and Safety, compliance, and operational activities.
In addition to her managerial responsibilities, Atsuko oversees the Language Resources Centre (LRC), the Language Centre’s dedicated library and independent study facility. She is responsible for the LRC’s service management and development, ensuring it remains a welcoming and resourceful environment for all language learners across King’s.
Atsuko is an active member of the CIEL Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, contributing to initiatives that promote inclusive practices and equal opportunities within the Language Centre.
