
Dr Benjamin Hunter

Biography
Dr Ben Hunter is Lecturer in International Development at the University of Sussex.
He is a Co-Investigator with Professor Susan Fairley Murray on an ESRC-funded project: 'Analysing the transnational provisioning of services in the social sector: the case of commercialisation of NHS services in China and India'.
Ben is interested in how new markets form in the healthcare sector, and his other research projects consider systems of commercial healthcare brokerage, and the use of development aid and 'beyond aid' approaches in the health sector.
Ben has previously worked as a Research Fellow and Teaching Fellow in the King's College London Department of International Development, where he completed his PhD in Development Studies. Prior to this he completed an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a BA in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
