Biography

Bianca Uy is a PhD Student in the Department of Physics, King’s College London, working with supervisor Professor James Millen.

She completed her MSci in Chemistry and Molecular Physics at the University of Nottingham in 2025. Her MSci project was on ‘Solar-blind sensors for optical communications’, focusing on optimising the signal, in the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) configuration, of a 2D semiconductor, fabricated in the labs at the university.

Venturing down the research field, she is now exploring levitated electromechanics as part as Professor James Millen’s group to investigate thermodynamics at the nanoscale.
