Biography
Brian is a PhD Candidate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research in the CAMHS Digital Lab based at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. His PhD is funded by the King's College London Medical Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership in Biomedical Sciences (KCL MRC DTP).
His PhD investigates the longitudinal impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of children and young people with pre-existing mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. Brian primarily uses data linkage methods of nested survey and electronic health records data, including the Maudsley Child and Young People Health and Experience Research (CYPHER) survey, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Biomedical Research Centre (SLaM BRC) case register, and Hospital Episode Statistics Admitted Patient Care (HES APC) and Emergency Care Data Set (ECDS). He also uses interview data with young people and caregivers.
Brian also supervises MSc student research projects across King's College London and University College London and teaches on the BSc Psychology programme at King's College London. He completed a MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London and a BSc in Psychology at King's College London.
