Biography

I am a final year PhD student in Rocio Sancho's Lab within the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. My project looks to investigate the reprogramming network via which ductal cells of the adult pancreas can give rise to insulin-producing beta cells as a potenital therapy for Diabetes. In our lab we combine both wet lab techniques such as organoid cell culture alongside computational modelling in order to elucidate these cell fate changes.

Sancho Lab

Our main goal in the Sancho lab is to decipher the fundamental regulatory networks involved in pancreatic cell fate decisions using adult and iPSCs derived organoids, and to apply this knowledge to new strategies in regenerative medicine for diabetes.
