Biography
Clare J FitzGerald is a Lecturer in Management & Organization within the Public Services Management and Organisation Department at King’s Business School. Dr FitzGerald is a theory-driven, mixed-methods researcher who explores how organisations independently and collectively deliver public value with a particular interest in the constraining and enabling power of laws, rules and regulations, and administrative practices.
Her research exploring public procurement has been funded by United Kingdom Research & Innovation Economic and Social Research Council and she has co-led commissioned evaluations of public-private partnerships and government collaborations for the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (Evaluation of the Life Chances Fund) and the UK Home Office (Evaluation of the Trusted Relationships Programme).
Dr FitzGerald’s research has been published and presented in a range of academic journals and conferences including Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management, International Research Society for Public Management, Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, Journal of Public and Nonprofit Affairs, Public Management Research Conference, Public Management Review and Public Money & Management.
Dr FitzGerald holds a PhD and Master’s in Public Administration from North Carolina State University. She is also a recipient of the 2017 Innovations in American Government Award Bright Ideas from the Harvard Kennedy School Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.
