Biography
Daniel completed his BDS with honours in 2016 at Cardiff University and went on to work in several training posts across South Wales and the North West of England, including in Paediatric Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2019 he moved to London after being appointed as a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and Specialty Registrar in Orthodontics at King’s Health Partners. Alongside this, he also underwent research training and studied for a Masters in Orthodontics with King’s College London.
He obtained his Membership in Orthodontics in 2022 and was subsequently awarded a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellowship. He started his PhD studies with King’s College London in late 2022 examining the cellular basis of palate morphogenesis and clefting. This work is co-supervised by both the Cobourne and Green laboratories at the Centre for Craniofacial & Regenerative Biology. Daniel now balances his research with an honorary clinical role at Guy's Dental Institute and the Evelina Cleft Service.
Research

Centre for Craniofacial & Regenerative Biology
Our research goes beyond the mouth. If we understand how the entire face and head forms, we can repair damage and regenerate cells. If we unravel the causes of diseases, we can treat patients successfully. If we solve these problems, our discoveries will improve health worldwide.
