
Biography
Deanne Naula is the Community Engagement Officer for the Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering and is also supporting the Mithras programme. She is responsible for building partnerships between the Centre, its projects and King’s local communities in Lambeth and Southwark. She works with research scientists, students and professional services staff within the Centre and School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences to support engagement and collaboration with local community partners, that helps to shape the research and mutually benefit those participating and beyond. Deanne has over 20 years’ experience developing and delivering educational and community engagement programmes with a diverse range of audiences. She has moved to Higher Education from the Cultural sector, working at institutions including the Science Museum and the Museum of London.

Wellcome EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering
The Centre focuses on the science and engineering of medical imaging. The UK is strong in medical imaging, with the Centre hosting the largest research group in this area in Europe.The Centre combines fundamental research in engineering, physics, mathematics, computing, and chemistry with medicine and biomedical research. The 400 inter-disciplinary scientists in the Centre are transforming the diagnosis and treatment of patients, and will deliver exceptional research.
