Biography

Dimos is a post-doctoral research associate at the Centre for Affective Disorders in the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (King’s College London). He completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, before gaining clinical experience as a neuropsychological assessor and assistant psychologist at a psychiatric ward providing inpatient and outpatient care in Thessaloniki, Greece. After graduating in 2015 from the MSc in Mental Health Studies at King’s College London, he worked as a research assistant for two years and then undertook a PhD exploring treatment response and therapeutic mechanisms of cognitive remediation therapy. Throughout this time, he was also involved in several research projects in the wider field of affective disorders, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical trials, psychometric development and validation, and evaluation of novel psychological therapies.

Dimos is currently managing an NIHR-funded, multi-site randomised clinical trial assessing the efficacy and mechanisms of cognitive remediation for people with bipolar disorder. Trial findings may prospectively inform the clinical management of bipolar disorder in order to facilitate functional recovery for patients.
