Mr Esteban Tato-Barcia
Research Assistant
Biography
I'm a highly skilled Research Assistant, working in the BioResource theme and the Genomics and Biomarker Laboratory facility at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre in London.
I have spent the last five years gaining expertise in a wide range of laboratory genomics methods. I was the laboratory sample collection lead in the UKRI Urgent Public Health COVID-CNS study, coordinating blood sample processing across 13 sites.
My skill set encompasses a broad range of laboratory techniques, including Illumina platform-based high-throughput genotyping of human DNA samples for genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and epigenome-wide association studies (EWAS), and real-time PCR-based high-throughput sex identification.
In addition, I have extensive expertise in biobank management, with a proven track record in inventory management. I have also provided technical support in project creation and coordination, as well as in the reception and processing of a diverse range of biological samples such as blood, saliva, and CSF using a LIMS management system.
