Biography
Fareeha Tariq is an early-career researcher studying rheumatologic conditions using immunogenomics and precision medicine approaches. She obtained her doctorate from Newcastle University investigating genomic mutations in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), using targeted and whole sequencing to identify clonal haematopoiesis-associated somatic variants and linking them to disease phenotype. She then undertook a postdoctoral position at the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine (LIRMM), understanding molecular markers of disease progression in anti-CCP positive at-risk RA individuals using multi-omics methods.
At King’s College London, Dr Tariq’s work focuses on precision medicine in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Current projects harmonise immunophenotyping and multi-omics to identify predictors of therapy response in SLE.
