Francis is a Lecturer in the Department of International Development at King's.

Prior to joining King's, Francis was a research fellow at the Institute of East Asian Studies (IN-EAST) and the Mercator School of Management at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He holds a PhD in Management and East Asian Studies from Freie Universität Berlin.

Francis's research examines how national institutions shape the development of creative and digital industries in East Asia, with particular attention to firms’ strategies around skills and workers.
