Biography

Gabriela Gutierrez-Huerter O is a Lecturer in International Management at King’s Business School and a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. She received her PhD from the University of Nottingham. Her work is located at the intersection of international business, corporate social responsibility and comparative institutional analysis.

She teaches Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics and Sustainability at the Undergraduate level. Her work has been published in the Journal of International Business Studies and Research in Global Strategic Management.

Gabriela’s research focuses on three strands:

  1. Cross-national transfer and translation of organizational practices within multi-national enterprises
  2. Modern slavery and Business and Human Rights
  3. Sustainability and Business Schools

Gabriela is a member of OS4Future, a movement of organization and management scientists who wish to inspire fellow academics to take action on climate change leading by example in research, teaching and impact. As part of her work on modern slavery in the UK construction sector, she is a member of the British Standards Institution (BSI) technical committee to modern slavery. Gabriela is also a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), Academy of Management (AOM) and the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS). Gabriela has been an invited speaker at various practioners events.

A recent example was the ‘Blended Webinar: ESG a new horizon to finance and Business’. Brazil and UK Dialogues and Narratives. Organised by ABERJE – Brazilian Association for Business Communication and the King’s Brazilian Institute:
