Gemma Pountney
Education Manager
Biography
Since graduating from the University of Sheffield, Gemma has had an extensive career in Higher Education, supporting a variety of UG, PG and Professional programmes for over 17 years. She worked in a number of roles at UCL, the Institute of Education, and City University of London before joining King’s College London in 2017 as BDS Operations Manager in the Faculty of Dentistry & Craniofacial Sciences. She has recently moved into the role of Education Manager at King's Foundations, a position that allows her to apply her knowledge and experience in HE operations to an area aligned to her own interests and educational background.
For over 4 years Gemma has worked as part of a successful job-share with her colleague Rachel Connell with whom she has now shared three roles across two different universities. Together they have a proven track record of managing teams to deliver high-quality programme support and an excellent student experience.
Outside of work, Gemma is a keen if unskilled gardener, a reluctant jogger and an avid cook book collector. She loves living in and exploring London and travelling to more exotic places when the opportunity arises.
