Biography

Georgios Tsialas is a political scientist whose research focuses on crisis politics, polycrisis, securitisation, public opinion and perceptions, comparative politics and computational social sciences. His doctoral research seeks to develop a systematic, multi-level, comparative analytical model of framing contests and securitisation, between different levels of governance and entangled crises, with the aim of advancing understanding of critical challenges in crisis management and offering novel insights into fostering cohesive and effective collective responses.

He holds a BA in Political Science and History from the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens. As part of his undergraduate studies, he spent a semester at Sciences Po Lille as an international exchange student. He also holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Currently, he is a PhD candidate (MPhill/PhD in Politics (Research)) at King’s College London (KCL).

In recent years, he has served as a senior political analyst and editor at the Association of International and European Affairs (ΟΔΕΘ). He published analyses focusing on various matters such as EU politics, China, Latin America and political sociology, while also overseeing the progress and review of other projects. From 2023 to 2025, he has worked as a Research Assistant at the Hellenic Observatory Research Centre for Contemporary Research on Greece and Cyprus at LSE.
