Biography

Dr Gianmarco Ingrosso, MD, is a Clinical Research Associate at the Centre for Affective Disorders, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London. He works on the clinical management of research participants across multiple clinical trials in mood disorders, within the Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration (MH-TRC) – Mission Mood Disorders workstream, a major NIHR-supported national initiative aimed at improving outcomes for individuals with mental health conditions.
He is also an Honorary Specialist Registrar at the National Affective Disorders Service, Maudsley Hospital, where he works in the assessment and management of patients with difficult-to-treat affective disorders.

Dr Ingrosso completed his medical degree at the University of Pisa, Italy, graduating with distinction and special mention, and his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Milan and ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo, Milan, Italy, graduating with distinction.
During the final year of his training, he was a visiting research fellow at the Centre for Affective Disorders (IoPPN), conducting research on treatment-resistant depression, and undertook supervised clinical work at the National Affective Disorders Service, Maudsley Hospital.

Before entering medical training, he completed a Master of Music in Flute Performance in Lecce, Italy.

His research interests span affective disorders, with a focus on difficult-to-treat depression. He has also conducted research on neurodivergence, including subthreshold autistic and ADHD traits.
