Biography

Hebe was awarded a PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2020. In her PhD she explored resettlement as a government strategy to manage flooding in Malawi. She then worked at the James Hutton Institute where she worked on the societal impacts and aspects of climate change adaptation and mitigation in Scotland.

She started at King's in October 2024 and works on Dr Tom Matthews' Future Leaders Fellowship - Reducing Global Catastrophic Risks from Unseen Climate Extremes. Her role focuses on the societal impacts of climate extremes.

Hebe's research focuses on the societal impacts of current extreme heat in Jacobabad in Pakistan, as well as considering the impacts of possible future unprecedented extreme heat events.
