Biography

Hongfen Zhou is the Team Leader for East Asian and South Asian languages at the Modern Language Centre, King’s College London. She has been teaching Mandarin in the Higher Education since 2007. Hongfen has a MA and a PhD in Education. Before joining King's in 2014, she taught Mandarin at the department of Chinese Studies at the University of Manchester. Her main research areas are intercultural communicative competence, online language teaching and learning, and acquisition of Chinese characters.
