Ian Forber is an experienced former senior civil servant who focused primarily on defence and international security policy and related defence procurement programmes. He worked in the Ministry of Defence and Cabinet Office and was the Ministry of Defence’s first Director General Nuclear, delivering a strategic transformation of the department’s approach to delivering long term nuclear deterrence.

He also worked as part of the Government’s Policy Profession to improve the civil service’s ability to support Ministers in delivering on their policy priorities. He has Master's degrees in International Studies from King’s College and in Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
