Biography

J. Selasi Komla Adjor joined the LITAID research team in June 2025 to pursue a PhD on Ghanaian literary production and print culture. LITAID is a five-year project of research funded by the UKRI under the Horizon Europe Grant Guarantee Scheme. Supervised by Dr Zimbler and Dr Kelly, Selasi’s research explores the multilingual Ghanaian literary field from the 1940s to the 1960s, with a focus on indigenous Ewe and Akan aesthetics and rhetorical traditions.

He holds a Bachelor of Education from Valley View University, where he was the English Department’s best graduating student in 2019, and an MPhil in English from the University of Ghana, Legon, where he researched nonhuman agency in Anglophone West African poetry.

A professionally trained teacher, Selasi has over a decade of experience teaching English and Literature across Ghana. He is also an emerging poet and playwright, with a debut poetry collection available on Amazon.
