Biography

Jaime Delgadillo, PhD, is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN).

He has postgraduate qualifications in psychoanalysis and cognitive behavioural therapy, and 20 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist. His research focuses on understanding individual differences in psychological treatment response, with the practical goal of informing personalised treatment selection and adaptation.

Jaime's current research examines the effectiveness and acceptability of new technologies such as digitally-enabled therapy, machine learning prediction models and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support clinical decision-making. He is an internationally renowned contributor to the field of personalised and precision mental health care.

He is currently working on the following projects:

Expertise and public engagement

Jaime has been a Principal Investigator in numerous clinical trials of psychological and digital health interventions for problems such as depression, anxiety, addictions and occupational burnout.

Having authored over 130 publications in scientific journals and book chapters, his work has been recognised with international awards by the Society for Psychotherapy Research and the Society for the Study of Addiction.

Jaime currently serves as President Elect of the UK chapter of the international Society for Psychotherapy Research and is an associate editor of the society’s journal – Psychotherapy Research.
