Biography

Jeyanthi is a Consultant in Dental Public Health in the Southeast of England. She is a dentist with postgraduate qualifications in Health Administration (South Bank Polytechnic), Health Education (King’s College, London) and a DPhil in Public Health and Epidemiology (Oxford).

Jeyanthi currently works with NHS England/ Improvement and provides specialist dental public health and public health advice to the development and commissioning of preventive and treatment services. She is passionate about reducing health inequalities, particularly for children. Jeyanthi has a keen interest in research and gathering evidence which informs “real-world” interventions. She has a publication record achieved mainly in service roles through successfully translating service work into publications. She contributed to work around the use of dental extractions under General Anaesthesia for oral health surveillance in Southampton (BDJ, 2017) which was highlighted in the national media. She is interested in public health in the widest sense and serves on the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Public Health Research Programme Prioritisation Committee which assesses the potential impact of public health research bids.
