Biography
Dr Joe Chilcot is a Reader in Health Psychology and Head of the Health Psychology Section, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London. His research is focused on the psychological aspects associated with long-term conditions, particularly advanced kidney disease. Joe is interested in the role cognitive and behavioural factors have upon symptoms and their trajectories (including distress and fatigue) and how these relate to clinical outcomes. He is also interested in the detection, management and treatment of depression among individuals living with kidney disease and other LTCs. He was honoured to receive the Inaugural Donna Lamping MDT Researcher Award for Outstanding Research in Kidney Care in 2012 and early career research awards from the Division of Health Psychology (2013) and UK Society for Behavioural Medicine (2015). Joe is co-editor of the British Journal of Health Psychology.
