John Kingman is Chair of Barclays UK, the ring-fenced retail bank of Barclays PLC. He was previously Chair of Legal & General PLC, 2016-26, and the first Chair of UK Research and Innovation, 2016-21. He was previously Second Permanent Secretary at HM Treasury where for many years he had lead responsibility for growth policy.
