Biography

Justyna is a Research Fellow at the Policy Institute. Her background is in socio-technical systems, and she is an experienced interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of Sociology and Computer Science. At the Policy Institute, she works on the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub, where she develops a policy research programme by doing a number of different activities.

Justyna completed her interdisciplinary iPhD programme in Web Science, where she studied how people shape technology, and how technology shapes people while being based and working with people from two departments, Computer Science and Engineering and Politics and International Relations.

Her research interests are mainly about people/users’ interactions with technology, misinformation, polarisation, fake news, populism and Internet of things. During her PhD, she did a secondment at the Cabinet Office, and prior to starting her academic journey, she worked in the Civil Service.
