Biography
Kaloyan Takov received his BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) from The University of Edinburgh in 2015. He then pursued his PhD as part of the British Heart Foundation four-year PhD programme at University College London where he worked on the cardioprotective roles of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (exosomes). Kaloyan joined Prof Mayr's laboratory in late 2019 and had a leading role in the COVID-19 research output of the group. His current research is focused on lipoprotein and extracellular vesicle biology employing cell-based and circulating biomarker studies as well as chromatographic and mass spectrometry approaches.
